Imam Abdullahi Saibu is currently the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of Jaiz Zakat & Waqf Trust Fund, member, Advisory Board of Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship (ICEnt) and a member of the Board of Trustees of Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Masters in Political Science (Public Administration) and currently a PhD Scholar at Loughborough University, UK. He also attended Arabic Language proficiency course at the International University of Africa, Khartoum – Sudan and a professional training course in Interfaith Conflict Resolution & Reflective Structured Dialogue at the University of Massachusetts, Boston – USA.
Imam Abdullahi Saibu is a fellow of many leading professional and development institutions across the world such as Association of African Entrepreneurs of Nigeria, the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration, Nigeria, Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and the Institute of Classic Entrepreneurship. He is a Certified Public Administrator of England and Wales as well as an Associate Member of the Chartered Nigerian Institute of Management. Furthermore, he is a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and a Member of the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation (ICERM), New York, USA.
Imam Saibu is also a Certified Management Consultant as well as an Inductee of the International WHO’S WHO of Professionals by the International WHO’S WHO Historical Society (IWWHS), Washington, DC, USA.
He is also a member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and currently the Secretary of NSCIA National Moon-Sighting Committee since 2009 till date. Imam Shuaib is also the current Coordinator, Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO).
He is a recipient of several awards within and outside the country such as the Award of Excellence and Distinction in Welfare and Social Services by Committee of Friends, Ikeja-Lagos; Award of the International African Achievers Merit Legacy of True Leadership Service, Accra Ghana; Interfaith Peace Pioneer Award of Efataglobal & Foundation, Houston, Texas, USA and the Award of Excellence in Public Service by the AfricanAge International Magazine among others in recognition of his uncommon feat, meritorious service, exemplary leadership and development initiative towards the advancement of Islamic Religion and the promotion of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and humanitarian service to mankind among others.
Imam Saibu was a former Executive Director/CEO, Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation; Executive Director and Centre for Peace Initiative (CPI) respectively; former Regional Head (Southwest Nigeria), Penman Pensions Limited; Executive Secretary, Nigeria-Arab Association/Nigeria-Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a Resource person at the Ikoyi External Campus of Lagos State University (LASU) among others.
He was also a former Interpreter/Imam at the Syrian Mosque and Ruxton Mosque Ikoyi, Lagos between 1998 and 2016. Imam Shuaib was also former Secretary of the Council of Imams and Ulamau of Lagos State.
Imam Saibu is currently the Director of Human Resources of the Global Union for Zakat Rite (GUZR) in Khartoum, Sudan as well as its Chief Operating Officer for the Anglophone countries in Africa.
